Medical appointments and vaccines

We spent our 1st Anniversary in Australia doing medicals for the two kids. Not that we planned for it, but the appointments just happened to coincide.

First off, we went to Waroonga for Erin's scheduled 6-week check with her pedia, Dr Neil Ginsberg. The check-up went fine, no major dramas. Doctor said she looks fine and everything is well with her. She's grown 300gm per week since birth, which is right at the top end, so it means she's gaining well despite her vomiting. In fact, we may have been overfeeding her (bad parents). Doctor also noted that she's loud :D

Then we headed to Peter Gill Medical Centre at Epping for Ethan's 4-year-old vaccinees. The nurse did some tests with Ethan like his motor skills (writing, one-leg stand, one-leg hops), eye sight, height, weight, etc. The nurse noted that Ethan is tall for his age. He's at 97 percentile which means, if his growth pattern continues, he'll be well above 6 feet when he's done. Great right? Well the bad thing is, his weight is also off the charts, literally. His weight right now at age 4 1/2 years is already the average weight of a 9 year old (bad bad parents). So no more chocolates from now on, only healthy foods.

We're very proud of Ethan enduring 3 vaccines without even cringing. Two on his left arm and one on his right. He did look terrified but didn't seem affected after. Erin also had 2 shots, with the next one on her 4th month.
