Wattamolla Beach 2021

A quick getaway from the city with our friends today as we visited Wattamolla Beach. It was a sudden decision to escape the stresses of, well everything, so we along with our friends packed up and left early to head south. It was too sudden in fact, that we didn't even bring food with us for the picnic. We had tents/shelters, mats, and chairs - but the only food we had were chips, water, and some leftover KFC chicken. Nevertheless, it was a fun, relaxing day.

We left Carlingford at around 9am and arrived at Wattamolla just before 11:30am. The place it eerily nostalgic, but it was here where my cancer journey started. I vividly remember that summer of 2014 when we visited this place with our friends from North Sydney, and as soon as we got home I suffered from terrible diarrhea and gastric pains. It lasted for weeks and months, before finally getting diagnosed as colon cancer. Oh well, past is past...

Back to the present, the kids quickly headed to the shore as we set up tent at the "river" side instead of the beach. The kids played volleyball on the beach initially, but gradually moved towards the water until their were already chest deep. The adults tried to relax under the shade, but since we're looking after kids in the water, you really can't avoid going in as well.

Towards the end of the day, Ethan and Arien decided they would try the cliff jump at the far end of the river. I was worried that Ethan would be scare going up the rocks, but surprisingly he managed to without much concern. After they jump, err cannonballed,  to the water, Ethan said he thought he dislocated his butt. Funny bloke!

We left the place at about 4pm and headed north back home. We passed by the famous Kickin Inn restaurant to buy plenty of seafood which we devoured at the Madulis during dinner.
