Lani received an alarming call from school today. The person on the line said Erin was hurt, that “her finger got stuck on the door” and that there was “bleeding and bruising” and we needed to “book a doctor on our way”. Lani being herself, panicked immediately and started crying.
We of course had to leave office immediately to get to Erin. When we got there, the little one greeted us with a smile. Her thumb was definitely swollen and it was obvious there was bleeding, but she seemed in good spirits. I think she’s happy she’s getting off school early, and that’s enough for her to forget that she’s in pain.
We got her to the doctor and he ordered x-ray which didn’t show any fracture. So she’s good.
These calls are the worst for parents...
