Mayfield Gardens and Blue Mountains

Lani hasn't had enough of camping yet, apparently, so she booked us for another go. This time though, it was a bit fancier - a one-night glamping experience at Mayfield Gardens. I must say, it is a wonderful experience. Not only was the tent fantastic, but the entire gardens itself was an adventure.

Mayfield Gardens is situated near Bathurst, about 2.5hours west of Sydney, past the Blue Mountains. They boast of a 65-hectare private garden field with different attractions and landscapes - lakes, fountains, falls, Chinese temples, a giant maze, boating experience, and many more.

We went on Thursday morning, driving early so we can make the best of the day. We went past Echo Point at the Blue Mountains to take a few photos but it turned out to be a dud because it was raining and there was too much fog to see anything. Well it was a great experience to be standing at the edge of a mountain and not be able to see further than a meter from you. All you see is a wall of white fog. The kids loved it.

After getting ourselves wet, we went on to continue our drive to Mayfield. We took the chance to buy a selfie stand as we knew there'd be a lot of photoshoots happening at Mayfield.

Arriving at Mayfield, I thought their welcoming area was already huge. But when I saw the map, I realised it's not even a tenth of the entire place.

The tents they had were the 5-meter-wide cone tents. It looks small outside but was actually big enough to fit 1 double-size bed/mattress and 2 single mattresses on half of the space, with the other half having beanbags, small tables and mats acting as a living room. In other words, it was huge.

After resting for a bit, we started our journey around the gardens. I must say again, it was vast and huge! Two days aren't enough to really explore everything. I reckon it takes more than 45mins to walk from one end to the other. After about 4 hours of walking and taking photos, we went back for our dinner (part of the package) at the cafe.

The following morning, we received our picnic-style breakfast in our tent (again, part of the package we paid for), then took the rest of the day enjoying the views and sceneries while taking a lot of photos.

The kids had fun and were surprisingly cooperative despite the non-ending stops for photos.
