Chemo Dose 1

Arrived at Norwest Private Hospital at 11:15am for my first dose of Chemo.

It's going to be different this time in that I'm doing an immunotherapy instead of an actual chemotherapy. The difference being the latter one kills cells, regardless of cancer cells or good cells. Whereas this new therapy is intended to boost the immune system so it can fight off cancer cells better. Because of this, the side effects expected are much less. In fact, I'm allowed to drive even after the infusion.

After the 30min infusion, I felt fine. A little bit of light-headedness, gastric pain (maybe not due to the drug), and a warm sensation similar to when you're getting a CT-scan drip. But other than that, I feel perfect. No nausea, no pain in the nerves, no sickening headache, nothing at all. In fact, Lani and I even went around test driving some EVs after my chemo, but that's another story. Oh, and I also played basketball later in the afternoon.

Let's see how it goes in the next dose, 3 weeks away.
