Chemo Dose 3

I had my 3rd dose of Pembrolizumab yesterday, on my way to kicking out this damn cancer from my body. The procedure itself was uneventful, but the three weeks leading to this was a drag.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have become hyperthyroid. I had palpitations, tremors, and constant feeling of fatigue. It was bad that I lost almost 5kg in a matter of 1.5weeks, and I was so tired I’d fall asleep everytime I sit and rest. However, it did settle down on the third week (this week).

Right before my treatment today, I saw my oncologist and he confirmed the low TSH. He did say though that it looks like my hyperthyroidism has reached it’s limit and I’m heading towards hypothyroidism now - which is the more common side effect of Keytruda. He  said I would likely gain weight again.

After the dose, I felt… well, normal. None of the tiredness from the last session. In fact, Lani and I were even able to have a little lunch date after getting out of the hospital.

At night, I started feeling lethargic. And today, I still feel the same way - not tired, but too down to do anything, even standup and get water. Not sure if it’s the drug, but definitely off. In fact, I even declined an invitation to play basketball which is unusual.

Let’s see how it goes in the next few days.
