Buhay banda - Part 4 (Nagcarlan)

Fourth installment of this multi-part story.

We moved to Nagcarlan summer of '93. We didn't have much things in tow, and life was becoming messy at that time.

We stayed at Tita Belen and Tito Abet's, and helped out in the candy business to help sustain our needs.

But it didn't take long for things to get back to normalcy. The furniture factory in Manila was sold and Papa got some cash to help us start anew. Papa also generously allotted some for our musical interests, including the following:
  • Black Genesis Series Precision Bass for Bro Jeff
  • Musicmate 5-pc drumset
  • Genesis Series 25W amp for me
  • Boss Digital Delay 3 for me
  • Dark green Yamaha Strat-copy
  • Raon-made Amplifier for microphones
Bringing with us our existing guitars, keyboards, and giant speakers (taken from a very old and very big LP player), we had a full set of band equipment to indulge in.

First line of business, find some band members!
It wasn't much difficult since family's around. So, the first band's line up was:
  • Guitar - me
  • Bass - Bro
  • Drums - Sis Jean
  • Keyboards - Bebang (Tito Abet's sister)
  • Vocals - Brad Amet (Mama's youngest brother)

Jonguit03_copy The name was Just-Us (there's even a logo'd t-shirt in this photo, hanging by the wall). The name is a play of the word justice because bro and bebang both wanted to become lawyers, and well, it's really just us.

But And it never really became a band. We jammed a little but there was no real band practice.

As the months go by uneventfully, me and Bro spent a lot of time writing songs. We'd usually do it at the terrace of the "haunted white house" in Balete that we moved in to.

Meanwhile, we were making our own acquiantances in our new schools and not soon after, we both started our own school bands.

Up next: Sacred Heart Academy

  3. Thanks for the corrections, bro. Yung Full Volume, i'm saving it for last. So, Bigkis muna. And actually, nauna ako nagperform sa Sacred Heart before tyo nabuo, as in kumpleto, as Full Volume.
