Ethan's sleeping pattern

Basically goes like this:

  • Between 9:30 and 10:30 pm - Sleeping time. Start to become irate. After a little craddling, he'd fall asleep. We'd put him in his crib and we'd go on with our business.

Lani and I would sleep at around 12am, and as we have done in the past few days, we'd sleep in the living room so we don't have to disturb Ethan up when moving him to the bedroom. We have a set of cushions/foams waiting right there in the living room. I'm not complaining, coz I get to play my Xbox all night. Tee hee!

  • Around 2am - Hungry and wet, he'll start move about a lot. If the cries, he's hungry. If he's just moving alot, he wants his diaper changed.

When I'm the 'lucky' one who has to get up for this, I'd take this chance to move Ethan from his crib down to our bed, between us. And I'd sleep hugging my baby.

  • Around 5am - Hungry and wet again, he will start moving a lot but this time with kick and pushes. He'd do his fake 1-second cries and you'd know he wants milk. After a bottle, he'd fall asleep again.

  • Around 6:30am - Wake up time.

Wake up time is the most fun. When we're lucky, we'd catch him just before we wakes up, and he's really cute.

Sometimes, we'd find him already lying perpendicular to us, eyes still close and head still on the bed. But he'd be kicking and pushing a lot. Pushing Lani's face and kicking mine, like he's trying to wake us up.

Other times, especially if we're in the bedroom, he'd open his eyes, look up and crawl right away. He'd aim for our headboard and grab the remote controls or our cellphones. When in the living room, he'd go for either the DVD player/TV or go under his crib collecting all the toys that he had thrown there.

One thing that's fascinating about him is he's a great morning person. He's almost always in a good mood when we wakes up. And even if you wake him up, he won't cry at all. Just smile at him and he will gladly smile back.
