Family vacation at Sunway Lagoon, KL - Day 1

Ah, vacation finally! Our last attempt on vacationing was cut short by Ethan's hospitalization, so we're delighted now that we've gotten some time for a well-earned rest.

The trip was originally scheduled as a special worship service, officiated by the Executive Minister of the church. After much stress on attendance, bus arrangements, and room bookings for our sakops, our much awaited Saturday departure finally came.

We had already planned to travel on convoy, with myself, Bro Mike Lim, Obet Tagle, Derrick Monteverde, Dudley Ardona, Mike Leal, and Jon Manosca. So after the devotional prayer, we set forth at around 9:30am on Aug 6. We went to JB first to fetch Bro Rani and family, and after a few minutes of traffic going out of JB proper, we were already on our way to the very very long north-south expressway. Unfortunately, 2 of the cars (bro Mike Leal and Jon Manosca) missed to exit and went straight to Tuas. The rest of us convoyed out of JB.

The trip was smooth and fast. It was quite difficult to stay below 120km/h because there were too few cars and the road was too tempting. We traveled about 100km before stopping for our lunch at the Wachap R&R. Again, we lost 2 cars (Obet and Dudley) due to not having enough balance on their touch-n-go cards. They proceeded to the next R&R and we caught up to them, along with the other 2 there.

We traveled the next 200+ kms on convoy and it was very fun. We all stuck to the same lane and we all followed whenever the lead changed lanes. It was until the last toll (near Petaling Jaya) that we finally got seperated again, when 1 car (Bro Mike Leal) was lost due to the toll again. The rest of us proceeded to our destination which was about 10kms away.

We reached Sunway Resort at around 4pm and went to our own hotel arrangements before meeting up again at 7pm for our rehearsals.

A quick dinner in the room (Marissa and Jo's adobo, egg, and bopis) with a lot of guests, rehearsals till 9pm, and a quick trip to Jusco inside Pyramid Mall, and the night was over.

Oh, oh, it wasn't actually. We waited for Bro JR mundin and Crystalei, who arrived on plane at around 12midnight and went for supper at the KFC in front of the hotel.
