So, with the Internet's help, I managed to revive it today.
Here are the step I did, in case someone else fall into the same problem.
The basic instructions came from this thread.
- Download the image file for my phone. Each model/country has it's own image file. So make sure you get the right one. For mine (LGP500 from Singapore), it was this file (V10G_00)
- Download KDZ updater from here and uncompress it
- Install msxml.msi from the uncompressed directory
- Turn off the phone and disconnect the cable.
- Press VOLUME UP + RETURN then plug in the USB cable. This starts the phone on Emergency mode.
- Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe.
- Select Type : 3GQCT
- Select PhoneMode : DIAG
- In KDZ file : Choose the ROM file you downloaded in the first step
- Press Launch software update and wait (It will be 10 minutes or so). In your phone it will appear "Emergency mode". Wait until it reboots.
Despite this though, I would say that the LG P500 is a terrible phone. It's incredibly slow!
