Australia - new role

The past few weeks have been a drag. No update whatsoever on the Australia job, and I didn't want to irritate the boss with nagging follow-ups. So, we just let it come, so to speak.

And came it did today. Boss called me in to the meeting room to discuss a change of plan. They are changing my role from purely Infrastructure, to mostly Development with part Infra Management. They said it puts better use of my skills and experience and I do agree. It does put my domain knowledge and past experience to good use. But having gone far from development for a while (5years), it makes me a little jittery. I do like the idea though of getting more involved in the company's core products, rather than just being back-end support guy.

So anyway, I've pretty much accepted it and next week, I will already start taking up this new role. The move to Sydney is still tentatively set on June, but I'll be actively involved from Monday onwards.
