Ethan's 4th Birthday

Simple was the theme of this year's celebration of Ethan's birthday. No parties like we did in the past years, but just a simple dinner at home and only 4 visitors.

Lani and I both went to work, so much of our days were spent on that. During lunch, we went out to buy presents at the AusPost shop near our office. We bought 5 items knowing Ethan's new-found fondness of opening presents. We bought a cute birdie wind chime, a kaleidoscope, a book of educations posters, a bundle of sticker books, and a tantagram puzzle book.  Lani wrapped them all up in the same simple green solid-color wrapper (yeah, we're really cheap :D), and that was going to be the highlight of Ethan's day.

When we got home at about 5:45pm (I love holiday traffic) Ethan was asleep. So we ate our simple dinner (JR's Tinola and the leftover of Ka Bang's Beef Casserole). Ka Narsing called and we invited them to come over. I went out quickly to buy a couple of $10 cakes from Coles.

Around 8-ish, Ethan woke up and a few minutes later the visitors arrived. Ka Bang cooked Pansit. Hanee and Angel brought another wrapped gift. After a prayer and quick bite, Ethan was on to his new favorite activity - opening presents. As expected, he loved his new toys. He specially liked Hanee and Angel's gift, which is a set of 150 building blocks that he builds into castles and tears down like Angry Bird mobs.

It's 2:15am and Ethan's just finally fallen asleep. All this time he's been begging me to let him play his new toy, which is terribly noisy when crashing down on our wood flooring.
