Health Undertaking process

I mentioned before that Nanay was asked to sign a Health Undertaking form in place of an actual Medical Exam for her Tourist Visa. The form stipulates that once Nanay arrives in Australia, she has to call the Health Undertaking Services (HUS) to register and schedule an exam.

So here's how it worked out for us:

  1. Nanay arrived in Australia on 6 December. She has 28 days to call HUS.
  2. Today (17 December), I called HUS on Nanay's behalf
  3. The officer asked for Nanay's details (name, password, birthday, arrival date) and verified on their records
  4. He then asked for my details (Name, Contact, Relationship)
  5. He asked for Nanay's phone number and asked if he can put us in conference so he can get Nanay's verbal permission for me to act on her behalf
  6. After verifying Nanay's name and date of birth,  he asked if Nanay agrees to me acting on her behalf. Nanay said Yes, the officer said Thanks and let her put down the phone.
  7. He then asked for my email address and told that the registration process is complete and that we will receive a letter from HUS in 2 weeks and a schedule for exam within the next 3 to 6 months.
That was it. A lot easier than I what I expected.
