Mama and Papa's visas, finally

Whew, that got us a bit nervous.

We had mama and papa apply for a visa on 17 October. We knew it would take around 6 six weeks, so we thought a 2 Dec flight would just be perfect. They'd be arriving here just as Nanay is departing and we only have to go to the airport once.

Then, on 19 Nov, Mama received a call from the immigration office. She was told that Papa's medical needs to be referred to Sydney which means it will be delayed. The officer estimated the following Monday (25th) but asked if she wanted to get her visa first or if she's rather wait. We decided it's better to get hers just in case. Within the same day, she received her visa grant letter in her email.

Monday and Tuesday passed but no sign of Papa's visa. On Wednesday, Mama received a text which said she needed to collect her visa letter from the Visa Application Centre (something they opted for during application). There was still no news about Papa's visa.

We were getting a little worried because (1) we booked their tickets together, it will not be easy to change one without changing the other, and (2) what will we do with the kids if they don't arrive as planned?

Today (Thursday), Papa went to Manila to collect the letter and was surprised to learn that it was HIS grant letter that he was collecting. Phew!
