Missing out on all the fun

Ethan loves baking. So every time we have the chance, we try to get him involved in the kitchen.Yesterday morning, I was preparing breakfast for the family so I thought I'd invite Ethan to help.

Me: Ethan, do you want to help me make pancakes?
Ethan: YES!!! *jumped excitedly out of the bed*

He helped put water into the ready-mix jug, shaked the mix as best as he could, and helped pour into the pan. In one of the pouring, he made a mistake and poured way too much mix into the pan that it looked like we were cooking soup instead of pancakes.

Ethan: Oh no! I'm sorry Daddy, I made a mistake.
Me: It's ok.
Ethan: You're not angry?
Me: No. Don't worry, we can fix that.
Ethan: Ohhh.. Thank you, Daddy. I've made so many mistakes in my life.
Me: *rolled on the floor laughing*

He continued to help in the kitchen until he heard some kids show from the TV in the living room.

Ethan: Daddy, I'm missing out on all the fun.
Me: Huh?
Ethan: I'm missing out on all the fun because I'm cooking here with you. Maybe I should go to the living room.
Me: Ok, thanks for the help.

And off he went.
