Last July I had my very first Ultrasound as the doctors were still figuring out what this sickness was. I also did blood tests but I've done that many times before.
On October 7, I had my very first Colonoscopy which happened to be my very first hospital procedure as well. I had been admitted before but it was for Typhoid Fever when I was 11 years old and there wasn't any procedure done other than IV fluids.
During the colonoscopy, I was administered with anaesthesia - another first - which had me knocked down as soon as the drug was injected. I remember looking at the injection one second then opening my eyes again to find myself already in the recovery room.

The ugly drug! |
The following day, I had my very first CT scan. It was such a weird feeling when they started the IV fluids. I was warned that I will get hot flashes but I wasn't expecting it to start on my head instead of my arm where the IV is injected. It was so hot I wanted to jump out of the table.
Yesterday, I also had my first Sigmoidoscopy and it's something I'd really wish not to do again ever. I.. felt.. violated!! Huhuhu :P
And this coming Friday I will be undergoing my very first operation. This means, I will be taking my very first hospitalization leave from work. And it will also be the first time I will be on leave for more than 2 weeks.
I'm still not certain what's going to happen after the hospitalization. But I'm sure there will be many more first times coming my way in the next few days, weeks, and months. As they say, there's always a first time for everything!
