"Sunday evening, 5th of May 2013. The latest Mentalist episode was on. I suddenly got up the couch and told Jonathan to get ready. It's been 3 weeks of getting in and out of the hospital, having alternate day scans, blood and CTG tests. But this time was different and indeed it was! Three hours after arriving at Westmead, our little girl Erin was born.
It was not an easy journey for us, as people closest to us would know. I thank the Father Almighty for being our guide and shelter in what could be one of the darkest hours in our life. I thank Him for the abounding love and support we got from family, friends, and brethren in the Church.
I thank Him for a few hours from now it will be Erin's 2nd birthday. She continues to inspire us and bring us joy every day. And I thank Him for I know that whatever trial that will come our way, we will always persevere as we will never be forsaken."
- Lani AuWe celebrated Erin's birthday with a simple cake at home. We presented Erin with a gift - a baby doll, which she didn't really care about. She was more interested on the accessories that came with it - a small milk bottle, a dummy pacifier, and a small plastic duck.
This weekend, we plan to buy McDonald Happy Meals for each one of the children attending the CWS in our locale. That'll serve as Erin's mini birthday party.
