Good to be back

Ahh.. it's good to be home!

I've been away the past 2 weeks as I traveled to Singapore for a business trip. I left Sydney on the 4th of August and just landed at 5:50am today.

It was a great opportunity to visit back the place that we called home for a good 7 years of our lives. I missed seeing old friends both in the office and in church, having a taste of Singapore's vast variety of cuisines, and strolling around the city late at night in their never-ending strips of shopping centres. It was also good to have a bit of a break from the cold weather of Sydney, even though I'm not a huge fan of the humidity.

I did spend quite long hours in the office, which were expected. But I had a good break in between because 7-10 August happened to be a long holiday weekend in Singapore (it was their 50th Anniversary). We did work on the Friday (7th), but had the next 3 days off - half of which I spent walking around city, and the other half lying down in my hotel room watching TV.

It was a good personal trip for me as well because I managed to do the things that I was hoping to accomplish do in this trip:
  1. Meet with Ka Rani Borrero and Ka Sards, my mentors in the Church of Christ
  2. Meet my co-officers in the Church who are like family to me
  3. Play basketball with them, which we did on Monday (10 Aug) at McPherson CC
  4. Eat Carls Jr Superstar Burger
  5. Eat at Jollibee
  6. Buy Awefully Chocolate cakes for Lani
  7. Buy Bawka to bring home
  8. Buy jars and jars of Kaya spread
While it was a great trip, it wasn't all easy because my mind was in Sydney. Lani and the kids fell sick back home while I was away. In fact Ethan had to miss one whole week of class. I also felt bad for Lani because she had to endure long trips to and fro the office and church. I think it was the most walk, train, and bus rides she's had since 2005. So she was the first one to hug me when I got back. It's good to be home!
