A Busy February

February had been terribly busy that I haven't had the time to post anything in my blog. I had wanted this blog to be a journal of our everyday life, but life had taken too much of my time and I couldn't document it anymore.

So instead of writing articles for everything that's gone on, I'll just summarise this past month. Just this once.

Work
Lani and I had been terribly busy at work. She's becoming more involved in her team, specially with the Manager being away, and I, well I have taken on a new role. It's different to what I'm accustomed to. It's more challenging mainly because I have to interact with people more - something that's really out of my comfort zone. I'm still learning the ropes, but I can say that I'm enjoying it and I look forward to what I can achieve.

Halo halo to beat the summer heat; Friday night guarding
Church
Church had been overwhelming as well. We've been swamped by the growing demands of our duties, particularly the office work that comes with our roles. Not that I'm complaining.

We've had 2 change of ministers in the last 3 months so there are a lot of changes in the processes and preferences. It affects Lani a lot because she does a lot of reports being the head of the Secretariat. I have taken oath as Leadership aide, so definitely much more responsibilities and more time spent at church for me as well.

Then there were the intensive evangelical missions, saturated Pasugo distribution campaigns, memorable special worship services lead by Bro Eduardo Manalo, meetings by the Christian Family Organisation, Area meetings, and the trips to Central Coast to perform our duties.

Fish ball during the Friday night guarding
Truly God is getting us  immersed in His work to keep us away from evil.

On the more relaxed note, we're doing a weekly guarding every Friday night which also serves as a socialising activity. And it's been a blast. Lots of brethren join every week and and there's always plenty of food, games (board games for the kids), singing (videoke), and laughter going around. It's really fun even the kids look forward to it. Ethan prepares the board games that we bring every week. Erin know to wear her socks and shoes once she hears that we are going to Church. It's been a great family activity for us. A bonding moment while serving God.

Kids
Ethan resumed school on end January. He's still enjoying it but is getting more lazy in doing his homework. He's also back in swimming school which is enjoys a lot.

We went bowling early in the month and Ethan loved it. It was his first real bowling, having only playing on XBOX Kinect. He was frustrated the first few tries because the ball was too heavy and his fingers were too fat for the lighter balls. But, he eventually got the hang of it and managed to enjoy his 2 games. He did hit a strike on his 2nd game.

Erin likes to transform into a dog once in a while. She barks, runs on all fours, wiggles her butt, pants with her tongue out, and licks people when she's happy. Seriously, she does.

She's a very happy, playful kid. Talks a lot. Probably more than she should. She still likes to sing. And she likes watching scary videos/cartoons even though she always ends up hiding under the blanket when it's bedtime.

Health
Everything's going great so far. Had my CT-scan and blood tests and all clear. Lani is improving as well. In fact, I think we're doing so good that we are actually becoming a little too healthy, if you know what I mean.

Oh well, that's our February. Hope I'd be able to write more in March.
