House hunt 2016

Another year, another house. Which means, another damn relocation.

We receive a notice from the landlord on the end of May that the owner is already planning to renovate his properly. That is, the house will be torn down to give way to a new duplex. They gave us 6 six to vacate.

So the past few weeks, Lani and I have been busy viewing houses. Again, the same old requirements - 3 bedrooms, close to school, close to church, and most of all cheap. We didn't want to go far because we're already happy with Ethan's school. If we were to move suburbs, it'd be to get even closer to either school or church.

After much searching, we finally decided on a new townhouse at Kissing Point Rd (we're renting it, not buying!). It is a little farther away from school but still in comfortable walking distance. We used to leave across the road from school, now it's gonna be across the park. The house is really new. We'd be the first occupants. It's got 4 bedrooms, 3 toilets, 2 car parks, a small backyard, built-in robes, centralised aircon - the works. But it's a lot smaller than our house. And a lot more expensive. Unfortunately though, we can't find any cheaper alternative that will meet our requirements.

So, we've just signed the contract and we will be moving in on the 29th. God help us.
