Smile, I see you!

Lani has finally taken the plunge. I've been trying to convince her for a few years now to explore Laser Surgery for her eyes. I know how inconvenient wearing glasses for her had been and so I tried to encourage her to look into a permanent solution. Last Friday, after much urging, she's finally gone through surgery.

It's been a few weeks planning really. We had to contact a couple of clinics and chose the options wisely. I think we made the right decision on choosing the Vision Eye Institute in Chatswood. Not only that the specialist - Dr Gerard Sutton - was a very prominent figure in the lasik industry, as Lani would put it, he was also very handsome :).

Upon confirming the decision, Lani was called in for a 3-hour assessment towards the end of July. She went through a series of tests to make certain that she is suitable. She was then schedule for surgery on the 12th of Aug 2016.

On the 12th, we got the clinic at 8 in the morning. Lani checked in at the reception and went through some quick paperworks. At around 9am, she was given meds to calm her in preparation for the procedure. She went through the SMILE surgery at around 9:30am and was done in about 20mins. According to her, she was able to see right away, albeit a little "foggy".

She stayed in the clinic for the rest of the day because there was still some post-op tests to be done. The clinic had comfortable lazy boy sofas with dim lights and cozy blankets, so it was a good rest for her. All the procedures were completed at around 3pm and we headed straight home.

She still has to wear her ultraman google for the next 5 days to protect her eyes, specially when sleeping. Her vision is still not perfect at the moment, but much better than when she was still wearing glasses.
