Kiama roadtrip

Like I said in my last post, we were looking forward to our next journey. And so, there wasn't any reason we couldn't go to our next one.

This one's not planned. Bro Dennis just got his new car - to replace the ailing one he drove to Melbourne - so they wanted to go on a long drive. And we were happy to come along. So last Saturday, 12 Jan, we went down to Kiama!

We left the house at around 6am. Mama came with us. Met up at bro Dennis' place, fill up our petrol tanks, and started our 2 hour journey to Kiama.

Our first stop was the Kiama blowhole. It was a bit of a disappointment because there wasn't anything blowing into the hole. I think we got there a little too early for the waves. In the 10 minutes or so that we were there, the wave only came into the hole once. Still fascinating though.

Then we went out to town not 5 minutes away to have brunch. We noticed that many of the shops there are for sale. Intriguing. Anyways, we had eggs and bacons and breads for breakfast before heading back to the shore to swim in the rock pool.

The pool was nice. It was big enough to accommodate the good number of tourists pouring in. The water wasn't too salty and the view was great. The only things I didn't like were that it's a little too mossy and the uneven rock floor was difficult to walk on - painful in fact. But that's nature I guess. The water was very cold so it's not easy to get in, but very refreshing once you've acclimated yourself. The kids had plenty of fun, of course.

We headed back to Sydney just past 1pm so we'd have enough rest before church duties. The Luzons stayed behind to celebrate their anniversary - they weren't needed at church till the following morning.

Got home right around 3pm and slept a bit before spending the rest of the afternoon and night at church.

Good fun day!
