Singapore-Philippine Holiday April 2019

And just like that, the moment we have been waiting is done. We have been very excited for this Singapore-Philippine trip, myself especially because this was the first time I'm bringing the family back to Singapore since we left in 2012. I've been back there a few times for work, but never with family. So this trip was special.

Here's how our past two weeks were spent as recalled and written by Ethan.

SINGAPORE

April 15, Monday
3 am wake up time for our 6 am flight.
8-hr trip to Philippines and then we waited there in the airport for 3 hrs to board our Singapore flight.
Arrived in Singapore at around 8pm then took a cab to Costa Sands Resort in Sentosa Island.
After checking in, we went to night swimming. Then tried to buy ice cream, but machine broke. Too bad!
We then went to sleep in a hut. It was small and crowded, but it was fun.

April 16, Tuesday
Woke up 9 and went straight to Resorts World Festive Hotel.
Our room was not ready yet so we left our things and went through a really nice looking escalator towards Universal Studio. Daddy said it was on the way to Sentosa Casino
We ate Texas Chicken for breakfast and went to a sesame street themed booth for photos.
Then we spent the whole day at Universal Studios Singapore! I remember going on these rides:
  • Madagascar - boat adventure
  • Far far away land - coaster
  • Puss in boots roller coaster
  • Transformers the ride
  • Revenge of the mummy
  • Cylon and Human  roller coasters
We then went back to the hotel to rest, then Daddy and I returned to USS for more rides. Mommy and Erin visited some of the shops in the island.
We went swimming at night then Daddy and Erin bought McDonalds for dinner.

April 17, Wednesday
We had breakfast at hard rock hotel. I burned his tongue on the milk chocolate and that wasn't fun.
We went to maritime museum where we got to watch a 4D film in typhoon theatre which was about a Chinese boat that sunk with a treasure inside.
Then we went to the S.E.A. Aquarium. Erin made a seahorse badge for herself.
After that we went to the Adventure Cove Waterpark where we swam in the lazy river several times. Daddy and I also went on some rides and the wave pool
At night, we went to church so Daddy and Mommy can attend the adult worship service.
We got to ride a double decker bus to Vivo City, then we walked back to the hotel through the Sentosa Boardwalk which is 2 kilometers long. It had travelators which were escalators that were horizontal. We bought food from the really interesting vending machines there (some of them sold chilli crabs), then went to a 7-11 to buy our dinner because all the restaurants were already closed. Mommy made a big mess in the microwave oven because her sauce packet popped (we got away with it and haven't been caught to this day).

April 18, Thursday
Mommy and Daddy went to breakfast at Hard Rock without me and Erin (we were still sleeping).
When they came back, we left Resorts World and went to Vivo city so me and Erin could have breakfast. Then we took the train to our next hotel, Marina Bay Sands.
Erin loves the Marina Bay because they have a curtain that can be opened and closed with buttons that she can press. We also had a nice view of Gardens By The Bay.
It was still early so we went to the mall and rode a boat (they call is Sampan Rides) and viewed the large whirlpool bowl.
We went to the rooftop of the hotel and looked at the infinity pool.
We were going to go to Gardens by the Bay then but it was too hot so we decided to go back. So instead we went swimming in the infinity pool. A person did a magic show there.
After that we met friends Zack and Josh and shared pizza in the room.
We watched the Spectra light and fountain show which had the encased Merlion inside it glowing.

April 19, Friday
We went to the mall and met friends (Tita Jojo and Emily Ang) and ate breakfast at the food court.
Then we checked out of Marina Bay Sands and checked into Copthorne Hotel, our last hotel in Singapore.
We then went to the reunion with mommy and daddy's friends. It was in a clubhouse, Erin and I went swimming with friends. I also got to eat Jollibee chicken and I loved it.
After the reunion, we went back to Sentosa Island to watch Wings of time fountain show.

April 20, Saturday
We had breakfast at the hotel. They had a robot that made either omelettes of sunny side ups which was really cool.
We went to Gardens by the Bay Cloud Forest. We had a nice view of  Marina Bay Sands from the cloud domes.
We went to the CWS worship service after this and met some friends there.
After that we went to the River Safari.
Then we went back to Gardens by the Bay to visit the Flower Dome. I remember there was a fair there and we bought some food.
At night we went back to church for the adults worship service. After that some of Mommy and Daddy's friends joined us for dinner.

April 21, Sunday
We had breakfast at the hotel again and we visited the hotel pool. Daddy pushed me into the water so Erin and I ended up swimming.
We then went to Orchard Road, the shopping district, where we had Jollibees.
We met up with close friends Tita Ailyn and Tita Haidee. We bought pork jerky there and they went with us back to the hotel.
In the evening we checked out and went to the airport for our midnight flight to the Philippines.
We met Zack and Josh there and we watched the Jewel Changi water show in the airport - it had just opened that week.
We then went to eat at burger king then said bye to our friends.
Me and Erin played with children we met in the airport because our flight was delayed for 2 hours.

MANILA

April 22, monday
We arrived in manila at around 5am. Nanay and Tita Kang picked us up at the airport.
We went to their house for lunch and ate jollibee again. After that we went back to our apartment to rest.
Suddenly there was an earthquake!!! We were at the 12th floor so it was really scary. We had to leave the premises with family that were also living there. We spent the rest of the day in a shopping centre.

April 23, Tuesday,
We went for lunch at Vikings restaurant with family then played a bit in the kids' playground in SM Marikina.
We were worried about aftershocks so we didn't go anywhere else. We went for swimming in the apartment's pool

April 24, Wednesday
Mommy and Daddy left us at Tita Kang's house to spent time with our cousins while they visit their office in Makati. When they came back we had a McDonald's dinner.

April 25, Thursday
Woke up early and went to Kidzania, one of the best places in the Philippines. At first, I didn't think I would have fun in there because I thought it was for small kids. But after trying a few things I started to enjoy it. We were given atm card that we can use to receive or spend money. There are places that will let us work like painting or baking or being a fireman where kids will earn money. And there are places where you can spend your money like mcDonalds. Our first try was to go to the McDonalds shop where we were taught how to make burgers, and after we make them, we get to eat them too. Then Erin and I painted a house, rode a mini bus, baked a cake, made code and ice cream, and were thought how to become pilots. Erin also went for the fireman training. It was really cool.
After Kidzania, we went to meet my friend from Singapore, Mara, and her mom.
At night, we headed to SM Megamall for dinner with mommy's college friends.

April 26, Friday
We met with Erin's bestfriend Iyah and her family in Cubao. The Carungay's were there too, so I also had my friend Benson and Abbie with me.
We ate Jollibee again and went for swimming in their pool, but Erin didn't get to swim with us because she was sick.
She's having diarrhoea and fever.
We headed home early so she can rest.

April 27, Saturday
Wedding day of Tita Janet - the reason why we went back to the Philippines.

April 28, Sunday
We meet with the Carungays and Lugues again at Church when we attended the CWS worship service.
Then Daddy and I went to the house of my cousins (Tita Teng's family) and I we played UNO while laughing the whole time.
Erin was still sick so we didn't get to do much after.
Mommy and Daddy went out at night to meet with Kuya JR.

April 29, Monday
The holiday is done, we're on our way back to the airport for our flight to Sydney.

And there you go. Two weeks of fun and adventure. Looking forward to the next one.
