Erin's 6th birthday

Erin celebrates her 6th birthday today. She's been so excited for this day, she had been talking about it for months. I'm not even sure why, because we don't have anything planned at all. :{

Well, we did do something.

We just came back from our 2 week Singapore-Philippine trip and one of the reasons for that holiday was because we wanted to bring Erin to a Disney-like place for her birthday. We did that in Universal Studios in Singapore, and to some extent Kidzania in Manila. We arrived back in Sydney a week short of her birthday.

Her the days before her birthday was not fun. She suffered diarrhoea for a week so she wasn't well. But she was happy because that meant she also had to miss the first 3 days of school - and that's enough to make her joyful despite the diarrhoea.

Closer to the day, she did ask for a few 'gifts'. First, she asked us to buy loot bags for her classmates. Then, we had a dinner with a small group of close friends. Then bought her cake during her actual birthday. Then, she asked for a camera. I had a cheap Kmart one at home so I gave her that, but she had trouble keeping her hands still becuase the buttons were stiff. So I decided to buy her a better one, a pink Nikon coolpix pocket camera. She loved it.

Her birthday has already passed, but she's still not done asking. On this weekend, she wants us to go on a trampoline park... I guess we'll see.
