Term 2 School Holiday 2019

We wanted to get the kids a little more active these holidays because they have been spending most of their free time on iPads and computers. We don't get to go out often anymore so we thought, why not fill their 2-week school holidays with activities. And so we did. Here's how the past two weeks were spent.

  • 6 Jul, Saturday
After our church duties, the kid went on their very first sleepover at the Maduli's. Lani and I were a little worried but they did fine.
  • 7 Jul, Sunday
We picked the kids up from the Maduli before breakfast and drove the 3.5hours trip to Canberra for our annual Question visit. We got there just before lunch and spent the entire afternoon in the centre. We then headed to Ibis Styles, our accommodation for the night. We wanted to go for Filipino food for dinner but the restaurants were closed so we ended up buying McDo and Guzmans'.
  • 8 Jul, Monday
Woke up early for our hotel breakfast and stayed in until about 11am. We then drove up to Cockington Greens Garden to look at the miniature buildings and structures. After that, we headed to the town centre for milkshakes at Pattiseez before driving back to Sydney.
  • 12 Jul, Friday
Ethan went to a whole-day Robotics Programming Workshop with Benson. They were taught how to build robots and how to code their controls.
  • 13 Jul, Saturday
The kdis went to the Maduli's again for a sleepover. But around 11pm, I had to pick them up along with the Maduli kids because their mom went into labour and had to go the hospital to give birth.
  • 14 Jul, Sunday
Maduli kids were still in the hosue until evening so it was a whole day for fun for the little ones.
  • 16 - 18 Jul, Tuesday to Thursday
Erin attended a 3-day Cheer and Dance workshop at the Inferno Cheer School. She enjoyed it so much she wants to go back for a whole term.

  • 17 Jul, Wednesday
It was chapel guarding duty for me so I brought Ethan, Erin and their friend Arien with me to "camp" at the chapel. With McDonalds family box in tow, the kids played Roblox till very late, and they were very happy about it. We slept on inflatable beds in the function hall and went home at almost 6am.
  • 18 Jul, Thursday
We had our friends' kids sleepover at our house so Ethan and Erin were up until very very very late (2:30am).
  • 19 Jul, FridayLani and I took the day off to work to get some document notarized at the Philippine Embassy. We got back around noon and brought the kids to Parramatta Winterlight Festival. They had carnival rides and ice skating. Ethan went on the scariest ride in the park.
  • 20 Jul, Saturday
Church cleaning day, preparing our chapel for our upcoming Anniversary Thanksgiving. The children joined in too and helped vacuum the Children's Worship Service hall.
This probably was the most jam-packed two-week school holiday so far. Erin is already counting the days to the end of Term 3.
