Erin had been very excited about this. I guess, this is the first book parade day that she remembers.
For Lani and myself, we agreed that we were going to go easy this year. The past few years we have gone a little overboard with our costumes, sending Ethan to school as Alladin when he was in kindy, Wizard of Oz' Scarecrow in year 1, an Oompa Loompa in his second year, and as the Three Little Pigs on his third year. We told Erin we'd do a simple dress this time.
So we did start really simple, agreeing on Mary Poppins after seeing the trailer of the 2018 movie in youtube. We started with a simple blue dress and white shirt. Lani then realised she needed a tie, then gloves, then umbrella, then a hat, and a bag. Finally, she decided they had to be accentuated with flowers and all. So, we ended up doing kmart-trips and all-nighters again to get a dress ready for her parade.
Well, it did turn out lovely! Erin was delighted and proud.
