Erin the Youtuber

Erin wanted to be a Youtuber for many months now. She’s been bugging me to teach her and help her set up an account. Unfortunately though she didn’t have any content to really work on so I’ve been delaying it as much as I can. But the past few weeks she’s been asking more and more about it and she has actually given me bits and pieces of what her plans are for her Youtube channel. And to be honest, it was starting to look like she’s thought it through. 

And so last week, i finally agreed to help set her up. I went ahead and installed OBS on her computer and trained her up on how to record, how to organise her windows, how to switch between apps, and even how to check her recordings. She picked it up real fast and within an hour she already started recording her first video.

Her first video was really funny. She introduced hersef to her “viewers” while playing minecraft. It was hilarious how she gave hints on her age, and how she talked about “merch” coming soon, as if she’s already a YouTube celebrity. The next couple videos were more gameplay and really really long (40mins). She is really meticulous in the details of her channel. She would tell me what title she wants exactly, what description to put, and how the thumbnail should look like - images, fonts and all.

I remember when she last asked me to help her set this up and I agreed, her excited response was “Yey, I’m gonna make a lot of money!” Oh, how I wish.
