Mamma Mia! date at the Sydney Lyric Theatre

Here we go again! Take a change on me!

A date is long overdue, so as we had the night free, we decided to take a change on getting a ticket to Mamma Mia at the venue box office. This is our first time watching a musical without pre-booking our tickets, so we were somewhat worried. But it turned out to be a blessing.

When we got to the box office and asked for seats, we where offered the $149each tickets. We declined and said we preferred the cheaper seats. We were given the $79 seats which was further back. Then when the lady handed us the tickets, she said she upgraded us and gave us the original $149 tickets though we had only paid for the cheaper ones. Woohoo!

The show was of course fabulous. Loved the music, love the choreography, love the story, love the characters, and love the actors too. If there's anything to ask for, it probably would be the set - it's a little too "simple" for a stage musical of this price. But then again, it's not a fantasy like Cinderella or Aladdin that needs magical stuff happening.

We enjoyed our date and look forward to the next one. Two infact - we're already booked for Les Miserables in August, and Miss Saigon in September.
