Erin and the Binhi/CWS Band

So proud of the kids.

Over the past month, Erin and few of her friends have been spending time with me practicing for a band performance for the church district's 30th Anniversary. It was meant to be a performance for me, Ethan, Erin, and Gelo, but we thought it'd be cuter if the kids performed instead. The only problem was, only 2 of them knew how to play - Erin and Jacob. I had to recruit and teach a few other kids to play instruments.

So we 4 days of practices under their belt, and 1 sample audience performance at the chapel compound - last night they performed live in front of over 1000 people at the Maquarie Paradiso Function Centre in Liverpool.

The band members were:

  • Erin on Drums (her 2nd performance as a drummer)
  • Jacob on Keyboards (he already knew how to play, but first time in a band)
  • Althea on Bass (complete beginner but learned really quickly)
  • Jessla on Ukelele (complete beginner, bought her ukelele on the day of the first practice, surprisingly on queue with her tone and timing)
  • Aeron and Edward playing the Maracas (complete beginners)
  • Charlice, Crizelle and Erin on Vocals
They were all nervous, but they played very well. The parents are all happy and proud.
