Erin's Year 6 Camp in Canberra

It's camp time! For Erin that is.

She's been excited about this camp for a while now. She has asked us many times over the past few weeks if we had paid her camp dues and submitted her permission slips and health declarations. And now it's finally here. Too bad Mommy is away (in the Philippines) and couldn't see Erin off.

I drove Erin to school at 5:30am on Monday the 24th, and she met with the rest of her class and the teachers. Their bus left the school around 6am.

They travelled 400kms to Canberra, the nation's capital, arriving there just before lunchtime to first see the Parliament House, then the rest of the attractions there including the War Memorial, the National Gallery, the Arboretum, and the National Capital Exhibition. Lunch was in one of the parks, and dinner was at their accommodation - Ibis Style Canberra. Erin said they had curry which she surprisingly enjoyed.

Day 2 started early, according to Erin. They left at 8:15am when she had barely prepared herself. They went to the Old Parliament House, the Electoral Commission, Australian Institue of Sport, and Moun Ainslie Lookout. They ended their day with a game of Bowling.

Day 3 included trips to the CSIRO Discovery Centre, National Portrait Gallery, and Erin's favourite - Questacon. They left Canberra just past 3pm, had dinner at McDonalds along the way, and arrived back at school just before 8pm.

I hope posted only group photos, unfortunately.
