So how do you teach a baby how to swim?

Y'all know that Ethan loves water. He just loves it and he's not afraid at all. To him, bath time is fun. And swimming is even more so.

First time we brought him to the pool, about 2 months ago, he went ecstatic! He wadded his foot for a second then wanted to jump in right away. So now, every weekend mornings, I bring him for a swim. And he seems natural at it. He waddles and paddles like he's Michale Phelps, he pats the water to no end, and he doesn't mind getting some on his face too. Here are some pictures.

But, how do you really teach a baby how to swim? I saw a video of a guy letting go of his baby in the water, dipping him down for a second and coming out just fine. I wanted to try but I'd always cop out at the last second, I'm just too scared. Tried one time (see video below) and I just feel guilty doing that to my baby. Coz everytime Ethan's face would go in the water (sometimes on his own doing), he'd get back up gasping for breath and coughing like he's drunk a glassful.

Oh, well. I guess I'll just let him enjoy the water now and worry about the swimming part later.
