Sad news - No visa for nanny

Terrible news we received today, our application for Nanay's 457 dependent Visa was rejected by the case officer. After 3 long months of waiting and almost $3,000 on processing and agent's fees, we're back to square one.

I've just read the detailed report from the case officer and her reason for denying us a visa are:

• she's not satisfied that Nanay lived with us (even if I've given many evidences to prove that she lived with us in Singapore from Feb 2009 to June 2012)
• she doesn't agree that Nanay is financially dependent on us, simply because Lani has other siblings
• because we send our remittances to Nanay via kuya Roy's bank account (Lani's brother-in-law where Nanay stays now), she doesn't believe the remittances are for Nanay

Not sure what we're gonna do now. We can certainly file an appeal but it will take 12-18 months to get a decision on that and it will cost us a lot more.

Sad sad day.
