The agonising wait for Nanay's visa

I've shared recently of our heartbreak when we were informed that Nanay's 457 visa was denied.  Well, we haven't really given up yet, so the past 2 weeks I spent a considerable amount of time preparing the documents for a fresh 676 Tourist Visa application. Hopefully, Immigration will grant Nanay a visa valid for 12 months.

For those interested, here's what I gathered:
  • Filled up Form 48r with Part C attachment
  • Copy of Nanay's passport
  • Copy of Nanay's birth cert and Tatay's death cert
  • Her name affidavit (she goes by Celia and Cecilia)
  • BUPA health insurance letter
  • copy of the 457 refusal letter
  • A heart-fell pleading invitation and sponsorship letter
  • copy of our Passports and Visa (being sponsors)
  • copies of our employment contracts and payslips
  • copy of recent bank statement
We couriered out the docs to them on 6 Nov and received by them on 9 Nov. After getting passport photos taken and securing the Php 5,300 manager's cheque, Kang and Nanay submitted the docs to the Visa Application Center on Saturday, 10 Nov.

On 20 Nov, they received an SMS from the immigration saying they are sending a document over. Air21 also informed them that there's a parcel arriving on that day. With everyone in the clan painstakingly waiting, the parcel didn't arrive - not on that day, nor the next, and not even on the following day.

Finally, on 23 Nov the parcel arrived. It contained nothing but a form that needed to be signed and sent back to the department.

They are due to send back to form today and we're back into the waiting game.
