A ribbon from God

Yesterday was Ethan's first time to attend CWS on this own. He's been attending the Children's Worship Service since early January but I'm always there attending with him (I sit at the back - his request - while he sits at front with the other kids). I guess my presence gives him comfort and assurance while also keeping him in check.

Due to a sudden/temporary change in the schedule of services, we had to leave Ethan on his own yesterday. Lani and I weren't really comfortable with it yet - and I could tell from Lani's look that she was really worried - but we had no choice. So we left him there and proceeded to the Adults' Worship Service upstairs and prayed that he'd last an hour without crying or causing any mischief.

And boy oh boy, did he behave! After the service, Nanay and Lani found Ethan well and happy, proudly showing off his very own ribbon. He said he got it for answering the teacher's question. I ask what the question was but he doesn't seem to know nor remember. All he knew was he answered "Yes." Well, good enough for me!

The ribbons usually don't have the kids' names (they hand them out during Q&As) but oddly, Ethan has his name on it. I asked him who wrote his name and Ethan very confidently replied "It was God"
