Time to move again

Been 1 year and 9 months since we moved in to our home at Chestnut Ave, Telopea. And now it's time to move again.

Last month, we received a letter from our landlord that we have to vacate the property by 29th of August. The owner plans to start the demolition of the house to build a new dwelling in it's place. Sadly for renters like us, that's out of our control, so we just have to accept it and move on.

The past few weeks Lani and I have been hunting for a new place. Just like before, the requirements are fairly well-defined - at least 3 bedrooms, near the school, not too far from church, and fits a certain budget. After a couple of weeks and bunch of inspections all around Carlingford, Telopea, Dundas, and Ermington, we couldn't find one that we liked.

But 2 weeks ago, a property came up that had all the boxes checked. It's an old house, much like the one we're living in now, but it's just right around the corner from where we live so moving will be tremendously easy. The price is within reach. In fact, it even got lowered by $30 a week after it went to market. And the best of all, it's right in front of Ethan's school. Very close that if you stand outside, you can literally see the door to Ethan's classroom.

Lani was not impressed with it at first because it was in such a mess. The grass were tall like they weren't mowed for over 10 years. There were leftover rubbish all around the yard. There was a leak on the 2nd bathroom. And the rooms were smaller than our current house, which had abnormally spacious rooms. But I decided it was the most practical choice. So, we submitted our application last Sunday and got approved Monday. We will be moving on the 17th of July.

I'm looking forward to building new memories with Lani and the kids in our new (temporary) home.
