Oompa Loompa Book Fair

It was Book Fair day again at Ethan's school, which meant it's costume time again. Ethan had won the past two years (wearing Aladdin and Scarecrow) so we thought we'd just buy a pre-made costume from the dollar shop this year, nothing fancy, and let other kids win.

However, 2 nights before the fair Ethan suggested he should wear Oompa Loompa clothes - the midget factory workers in the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Somehow, the suggestion awoken creative mommy once again and she immediately went to work.

Lani used the following parts:
- my white pants
- ethan's maroon long sleeve shirts and added double sided tape to create the stripes on the collar and cuffs of the shirt
- white socks and a marker to draw the black and white stripes
- my black jumper belts and covered it with white cloth; added big buttons for effect
- the bought gloves, green wig, white adhesive beards (used as brows), and orange face paint from a dollar store

This is how it turned out:

As you can see, Ethan won again.

This is what he had to say after:
Ethan: That's 3 years in a row Mommy. Can we go easy next year?
