We didn't have anything big planned. We had been invited to go fruit picking and picnic by church friends and so the group decided we'll just celebrate Erin's birthday there. It was cool with us because all Erin wanted was to be with her friend. Yes, friend, singular. Her only friend was Aliyah.
Some of us met at the church at 7:30am and headed to ka Rina's house. At about 8:30 we started our 1+ hour journey to Picton. We had 4-car convoy.
The trip was uneventful for the most part except until about the last 10mins of the drive when one of the kids threw up inside the car. I was going to try to get to the nearest service station but the smell started to go really bad and the other kids started pseudo-vomitting too. We had to stop by the side of the road to clean up. Wasn't too bad.
We arrived at Ceddar Creek just past 10am and headed straight to persimmon picking. This orchard was a much better than the one we went to at Bilpin. The trees look healthier, fruits fresher, and the aisles were really well kept.
After about an our, we headed to the Botanical Garden where we celebrated Erin's birthday. A simple happy birthday song by the kids, then candle-blowing, and then lunch. The kids went off the to playground just right beside our picnic shed. After the meal, we walked around the park and took photos. We also took the chance to distribute God's Message magazines.
We left the place half past 2 for a quick trip back home. The kids had to attend worship service in the evening.
It was a simple but happy occassion surrounded by friends. Erin had a lot of fun.
