It's school break once again so Lani and I decided to take a short break from office to spend time with the kids. We took Monday and Tuesday off hoping to go on a short out-of-town trip but realised it was not possible because of the upcoming Anniversary Thanksgiving at Church (we need to attend nighty devitional prayers). So, we decided we'd just go around the city.
We woke up Monday morning for an early pancake and bacon breakfast, then planned to go to the Australian museum to inject a little bit of culture in our lives. However, we ended up sleeping again after breakfast and didn't get up till past noon. So we just ended up going to Red Yard to do some window shopping and then watched a movie (Despicable Me 3).
Ethan had a final rehearsal at Church at 7pm so timing was just right.
The following day, we woke up very early and dragged ourselves to the city. The museum had a $20/day parking promo at one of the hotels in the City so we decided to just drive in.
The museum itself was not big. It had a section on (stuffed) animals, then another on aboriginal Australia, then more stuffed animals, a children's playground filled with, guess what, stuffed animals, and a science lab thing filled with... yeah, stuffed animals. Somehow, we ended up spending more than 3 hours in there. As we were about to go home, i went by the front counter to get my parking ticket validated when I was told that I parked in the wrong building. I should have gone to the one just beside where I parked. What was supposed to be $20 became $84. To not waste the expensive parking, we decided to stroll around the city, particularly Queen Victoria Building and had our early dinner there.
We went home just after 5pm in time for Church duties.
It was a pleasant short holiday with the kids. And a really pleasant time to enjoy plenty of stuffed animals.
