We just spent the entire night and following day at the hospital. We had to bring him in to emergency last night because he had blood in his urine. Not just blood, his urine turned into blood. The best way I can describe it is tomato juice.
Ethan called us at around 7pm, as Lani and I were driving home, telling us that his urine has turned red. I asked him to take a photo and true enough it was blood. So he hurried home, fetched the kids, and drove straight into Westmead Children's hospital. Ethan's urine sample was taken and we waiting in the waiting area for abour 3 hours before we were finally met by a doctor. Unfortunately, the urin sample were not conclusive so the renal team wanted to keep Ethan in for a few more tests.

We stayed the whole night at the emergency room area, moving from couch to couch trying to find a good place to rest. We finally settled in to nursing mom's area (there wasn't any mom there), where we managed to get a few hours of sleep.
In the morning, the doctors did a few more tests in him but still didn't find anything alarming. His urine has cleared by lunchtime, and the doctor believe it was just a post-infection reaction. They send us home in the afternoon and instructed us to return the following day for more tests and visit with the renal specialist.
It was truly a troubling moment seeing your child sick. Luckily for us, it didn't seem serious. In fact, Ethan seemed to have enjoyed the experience.
