Canberra 2018

Luck is on our side. Lani had been invited by the Medical Software Industry Association (MSIA) to attend a conference in Canberra last Thursday, 2 August. We thought this would be a great opportunity for another quick getaway, and so the kids and hopped into Mommy's luggage and I went along.

We drove to Canberra early morning Thursday and arrived at our hotel (Quality Hotel Dickson) at 11am. It was an old hotel but very cozy and had good location. After a quick rest, we went out again. Dropped Mommy off to her conference (start 12:30pm) which the kids and I headed to Questacon. It was tiring (for me) but the kids had fun.

We picked mommy up in the evening and headed to the Filipino restaurant accross town, where we had chicken inasal, barbeque pork, pansit, sago gulaman, and iscrambol.

The following day, we headed to the National Museum of Australia to enrich ourselves with the history of this country. Then we went to the National Arboretum because they have a lovely playground there. After the kids played, we planned eat late lunch there but then decided we'd go for killer milkshakes Patissez.

The evening was wet and raining - pouring in fact, so we just stayed in the room and watched a movie. While Lani and the kids were learning how to dance the floss, I went out to buy dinner in the middle of the rain. It was nice to see the area - plenty of restaurants and hangouts - just hope it wasn't raining as much. It was very cold!

Before we went back to Sydney the following morning, we stopped by the Parliament house to admire the home of our the nation's government.
Australians let's all rejoice. For we are young and free...
