The election process is a little convoluted. It involved a series of activities, include the nominations, a selection process by the teachers to trim down the list to 24, an interview by a panel of teachers, individual speeches by the candidates in front of all Years 2-6 students, the actual election, then finally an interview with the principals and assistant principals of the top 12 individuals.
So this whole week had been stressful. Ethan was getting his speech ready while at the same time getting prepared for the interviews. Lani and I of course helped him write his speech and practiced it several times with him, and we also went through many questions and scenarios to help him for the interviews.
Today we received great news that Ethan had been chosen as one of the 12 school leaders for next year. We have been invited to attend the Presentation Night on the 9th were Ethan and the other kids will formally receive their appointments. What we don't know yet is if Ethan got into the top 2- the school captains. Well we will find out next week.
