Wollongong 2021

Never say no to a holiday. That has been the motto so far this year. Teeheehee!

The Luzon booked an overnight stay at Novotel Wollongong for the last day of the school holidays, and when they invited as to tag along, we didn't hesitate to say yes. And so on Thursday night, Lani booked an our accommodation in the hotel for a Friday night stay.

Apr 16, Friday

  • Left Sydney at around 9am so we can get to Wollongong in time for the kid's prebooked wall-climbing activity
  • Arrive at Hangdog Rock Climbing centre at 11am
  • Around 1pm, left for the Science Space centre & Planetarium
  • Then around 3pm, we headed to the hotel for check-in
  • Around 5pm, we went to the Harbourfront lighthouse to have late lunch/early dinner. We wanted to eat at the classy seafood restaurant but ended up in the back-alley fish & chips shop which wasn't bad at all.
  • After eating, we went up for a stroll and photo op at the lighthouse
  • 6pm knockdown at the hotel. We agreed not to have any more dinner or supper so we can enjoy hotel breakfast the following day

Apr 17, Saturday

  • 7am buffet breakfast at the Hotel. The choices weren't really overwhelming, but the presentation was decent.
  • The kids had a 9am choir practice so we just bummed around in the room until 11am checkout time
  • After checkout, we went for 18 holes of minigolf at the Illiwara Golf Course
  • Then we proceeded to Wollongong Central to eat at San Churros. The food were sugar-packed and the kids were hyper at the end of our meal.
  • Heading home, we passed by the Sea Cliff Bridge for some photos
  • Arrived in Carlingford at 4:30pm.

Funny story during the trip to Science Space. We were watching the Planetarium show when Lani asked Erin if she wanted to be an Austronaut. Erin's reply: "No, a ninja would be better."
