PETscan and CTscan Done!

Spent most of my morning in the lab today doing PET and CT scans. I needed to do a bit of fasting, just 6 hours - wasn't too bad. I had to spend a long time waiting to get served though and again about an hour after the contrast media was injected intravenously, waiting for it to take effect, I guess.

The actual scan took about 20 mins in total. About 15 mins for the PET scan where I just had to lie down and stay still while the bed/platform slowly moves up and down the scanner machine.  Then another round of contrast media through the canula followed by about 5mins of holding your breath again and again while the scanner does its thing.

Finished at around 1pm, but for some reason I felt very very tired after this. Truth be told, I was kind of feeling sorry for myself, getting tired of all needles, canulas, drawing of blood, injecting of chemicals into my body. And of course, there's the waiting for resuls - which we will only find out on Thursday ath 11th. So much anxiety and stress that I just wanted to lie down and shut down. Luckily, I have a wonderful wife you knew exactly how to cheer me up - she treated me to Yum Cha lunch! I've been craving this since my birthday, and so this was really a great pick-me-up moment.

With a contented tummy, I spent the rest of my afternoon asleep.
