Chemo Dose 13 - Complete Metabolic Response

It's dose #13 of my immunotherapy treatment to cure my colon cancer.

I had my PET and CT scans last week in preparation for today, as I was meeting my oncologist Dr Nagrail. After my chemo at 8am, I went and saw the doctor and received wonderful news - the scans showed that I had complete metabolic response to the medication which means the cancer it pretty much gone! There were no unusual activities found during scans and everything came back normal.

Of course, we will continue on until at least the whole 1 year of treatment, that is up to dose #17. Then the doctor asked me to decide if I want to continue on with the 2nd year of treatment or stop there. I have a few months to decide. Regardless though, I don't have any problem continuing if that'll ensure that the cancer is completely wiped out. I haven't had any severe side effects to really stop me from continuing, unlike my first chemo - I actually had peripheral neuropathy midway through the treatment.

So I'm going to the Philippines with the kids in a few days carrying with us this wonderful news - I'm now in remission!

Me not smiling is because of tiredness, not because I'm unhappy.
