Well that was wild!
I was not expecting that at all. Let me just say, I enjoyed it a lot, but I was not a big fan of it. I like my musical with good stories, belting voices, and stage set ups that bring me to different times and places. Cats was not it. It was a simple story, simple stages, and plenty of production numbers, ie dancing.
But contrary to what I think, the kids absolutely loved it. Ethan said it probably was the best he's watched in terms of production value and energy. He said he thought he stopped breathing for a while watching the non-stop dance routines.
Erin was a little like me in that she was waiting for a story, but she said she had fun watching it.
We watched the show at Theatre Royal Sydney at Martin Place. Teng cane with us and it was the first ever musical she's watched. The seats we got where not bad at all. $75 each for Row N seats, which was 5th or 6th to the back. We were seated near middle of the row. The theatre was small and had the stall had good graduation/elevation, so we were able to enjoy every bit of it despite the full room.
