Tonight we watched Handa Opera's presentation of the classic Phantom of the Opera. And they did it with style. It was done in open air at the edge of the Botanic Garden with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the backdrop. They had a huge staircase and cranes to lift the giant chadelier.
We've had this booked for a while now, August last year if I remember right. And we had the Luzon family watching with us.
The show was magnificent. Performances were superb, stage production top notch. And the music... the music... it was the music of the night! (LOL)
The venue was great. They had setup seats on the side of the hill and there were 5 restaurants surrounding the seating area. The only problem was it was far from parking. You either had to take a shuttle or walk 20mins. Oh well, the show was worth it.
